Overview
The Ulefone Power Armor 14 Pro is the third smartphone from Ulefone's Power Armor sub-series which combines bespoke ruggedized qualities and big batteries. The first was the Power Armor 13 followed by the Power Armor 14. The Pro version brings a simple but significant upgrade over the vanilla version - a more powerful chipset, more RAM, more storage, and Android 12. All other specs are the same including the 10000 mAh battery and it will be interesting to check out both chipset and battery performance compared to those of the predecessor. Ulefone is no stranger to big-battery smartphones released four years ago the Power 5 and Power 5S with 13000 mAh batteries, the Armor 3 and Armor 3T with 10300 mAh batteries, as well as the Armor 3W and 3WT with 10300 mAh batteries. The Ulefone Power Armor 14 Pro is equally suitable as a second smartphone, power bank, or as а main smartphone while enjoying the great outdoors.
Specifications
The Ulefone Power Armor 14 Pro is equipped with a 6.52-inch IPS display with an HD+ resolution (720 x 1600 px) and an oleophobic coating. The V-shaped notch of the screen is the home of the 16MP Sony IMX481 selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 5-element lens. The rear, however, is completely different. The camera department on the back is headed by a 20MP Sony IMX350 main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, 81° field of view, and a 6-element lens. There is a 2MP GalaxyCore GC02M2 macro lens and a depth sensor complementing the main shooter on the back. Power is supplied by a 10000 mAh Li-Pol battery that supports 18W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. A MediaTek Helio G85 chipset ticks under the hood. Built on the 12nm process, it houses an octa-core CPU with 2x 2.0GHz Cortex-A75 cores and 6x 1.8GHz Cortex-A55 cores. A 1GHz dual-core ARM Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU handles the graphics. The chipset is paired with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of storage that can be expanded via a microSD card.
The Ulefone Power Armor 14 Pro has a hybrid, dual Nano-SIM tray with both SIM cards supporting 4G VoLTE. The supported network bands include 2G GSM (2/3/5/8), 3G WCDMA (1/2/4/5/8), 4G TDD-LTE (38/40), and 4G FDD-LTE (B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/18/19/20/25/26/28A/28B/66). The SAR values for the model are as follows: EU head - 0.382 W/kg, body - 0.599 W/kg. The wireless connectivity options of the model include Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, and Wi-Fi Display. The smartphone also supports NFC and works with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Beidou. It also has a built-in antenna, which ensures direct radio reception without the need for headphones. The model is further equipped with a USB Type-C port, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 3.5 mm jack. The Power Armor 14 Pro runs on almost vanilla Android 12. The rugged body is IP68 and IP69K rated for water and dust resistance and has a MIL-STD-810G certification for resistance to drops, shock, pressure, humidity, acidic atmosphere, temperature extremes, and similar types of impact.
